The game play of Need for Speed Prostreet is different from that of Need for Speed carbon and other games of the series. All earlier editions were based on arcade style game play but this need for speed ProStreet is a racing simulator. This game gives you the feeling of realism.

Also Need for Speed ProStreet does not feature any police; reason being its activities on the closed track. Yes. Need for Speed ProStreet is not played on open tracks and thus exhibits no illegal street racing. So no police. This may be disappointed for some gamers, but EA definitely would be having certain thing in mind while developing the ProStreet.

Need for Speed ProStreet have four distinct modes: Drag, Grip, Speed, and Drift. Prostreet features realistic graphics and more advanced physics. It also includes damage modeling meaning rendering a new car or even totaled.

Need for Speed ProStreet includes 55 cars built by 26 different manufactures. Many cars are from previous versions; some are super cars, and other unfinished cars which can be obtained through hex-editing. Need for speed ProStreet locations include San Diego, Nevada, Europe and Autobahn.

Recently, EA came under controversy concerned with the advertisement for Need for Speed Prostreet. The ad featured topless models and EA afterwards was forced to remove the campaign.
